Streamwreck deliberately produces flashing, strobing, high-contrast and rapidly-changing imagery. Built-in effects include full-screen flashes (“flashbang”), sustained strobes, rotating colored lights (“disco”), screen shaking and tearing, and red-alert pulses.
A small percentage of people can experience epileptic seizures or blackouts when exposed to flashing lights or patterns — including people with no history of seizures or epilepsy.
Dizziness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of the arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, momentary loss of awareness, or convulsions. If any of these occur, stop using the software immediately and see a doctor. If you or anyone who may view your stream has an epileptic condition or has ever had a seizure, consult a doctor before using flashing effects.
The purpose of Streamwreck is to put these effects on a live stream. If you enable flashing effects on a public broadcast, you are exposing viewers whose medical history you don’t know. You are responsible for warning your audience — for example, a “contains flashing effects” notice on-stream and in your channel description.
Every flashing / strobing effect ships disabled by default — you opt in to each one. The control panel has a single toggle to turn all flashing effects off at once, and every photosensitive-risk effect is clearly marked (see the full effects list). Review and configure these before your first broadcast.
This warning is also part of the license agreement (section 0); use of the software is subject to it, including the assumption of risk it describes.
